Editorial Policy
How we decide what to publish.
Everything on this site that makes a claim — about wavelengths, about ingredients, about timelines — is reviewed by a Dermosol clinical advisor before it goes live. This page documents how that works.
Sourcing standards
- Mechanism claims are sourced from peer-reviewed literature. We cite the paper, link the abstract, and provide a PDF on request.
- Effectiveness claims are sourced from our internal post-protocol survey of Dermosol members. Sample sizes and methodology are publishable.
- Quotes and testimonials are from real, verified members and are reproduced with their consent.
What we will not publish
- Before/after photos that have been retouched. Cropping and rotation are fine; pixel-level edits to the skin are not.
- Quotes from members who did not actually use the protocol.
- Mechanism claims that go beyond what the literature supports.
- Endorsements that were paid as commission on conversions. Paid editorial is disclosed.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we say so on the page where it appeared and date the correction. The corrections log is available to journalists and clinicians on request.
